Awoken

My entry for the 50 Shades of Green book cover contest chezapocalypse.com/episodes/ep…. They asked for a sketch, I ended up going one further and slapping some colour on there just 'cus that's how I roll. It's not finished by a long shot as the background doesn't have any shading and Lego Brick's proportions are fairly rough but it meets the standards of a rough concept.

Originally I was thinking about just doing a pearl on a black background but then Lindsay talked of how she liked the whole "woman going places" trend in YA covers and I remembered Serra's own love of the ocean and so I ended up with this. I think a full version of the cover would probably involve more tree-tentacles reaching out to our protagonist as she makes her way down to the beach in her trance state. Maybe have her in a pale green dress/nightie instead with her pale skin almost glowing in the moonlight but this'll do for now.

I doubt this'll get picked but at least it could act as inspiration for anyone else seeking to have a go at making the cover for this.
